Imagine a life where every day is a battle for survival. Finding food & shelter, dodging predators and living each day alone. That’s what Kahlua’s life looked like as she grew up on the streets of Phoenix, crossing busy streets and seeking nourishment behind restaurants. The volunteers at HARTT spent two long months tracking her until she finally ended up somewhere safe – a schoolyard. And she made herself at home in a dugout. A dugout that ended up being exactly the place HARTT could finally rescue her and bring her to something so foreign…safety. The rest of Kahlua’s story is to be determined, but in the short time she’s been under HARTT’s care, she’s made huge leaps and strides. She’s sweet, calm, LOVES other dogs and she’s mindful.
