Around Arizona: Holiday Happenings to Get You Feeling Festive

There aren't many places where you can ski in the morning and be sitting poolside by afternoon, but Arizona is one of them! Here's a look at all the fun happening around the Valley of the Sun and it's surrounding areas this holiday season!

Arizona Snowbowl

Anticipated opening is November 18th for Arizona's premier ski destination! Lifts will begin running at 9am and will remain open until 4pm, weather permitting. PLUS, enjoy free giveaways for those early-morning risers who are first in line at the Arizona Gondola, live music, and so much more!

Season passes on sale now and individual lift tickets start at $19.

Skate Westgate

Who knew you could skate on 3,500-square-feet of REAL ice in Arizona? Located in the heart of the district’s plaza in Fountain Park, the magic of the season comes to life. Onsite tickets and skate rentals are available on a first-come, first-served basis at the ticket booth located near the ice rink, single-use and season passes are also available.

World of Illumination - Candy Rush, Rockin' Christmas or Enchanted Safari

This year, World of Illumination is letting you either take a drive on the wild side, become mesmerized by a sugarplum forest or rock around the Christmas tree. Words can't even describe the adventures you will endure at each of the new light shows! You've got to see it to believe it! And with three locations across the valley and prices starting at just $39 a car, it's a memorable adventure the whole family will love!

ZooLights

This Valley favorite is back for another year of wonder and this season promises to be bigger and brighter than ever before, with all new animal lanterns and light displays, an enhanced Santa experience and our brand-new music and light show that will take you around the world!

Magical Christmas Journey to the North Pole

Did you know Santa's Secret tracks to the North Pole start right here in Arizona? The Magical Christmas Journey begins at the Verde Canyon Railroad depot in Clarkdale. With seasonal treats and libation available for purchase, Santa's elves providing entertainment and your favorite holiday songs being sung, this is sure to be a memory for young and old.

Holiday Pop-Ups at Châm Pang Lanes, Palma and Ghost Donkey

You can't miss seeing these downtown Phoenix favorites transform for the holidays! Châm Pang Lanes will become Candy Cane Lanes; Ghost Donkey...to be Blitzen! And Palma will have your Tiki Christmas dreams coming true. Festive decor and delicious limited time holiday cocktails will abound this season!

APS Electric Light Parade

For more than three decades, the APS Electric Light Parade has invited families, neighborhood groups and businesses from across the city to come together to celebrate the holiday season, and this year we do it all over again!

The parade kicks off at Central and Montebello avenues at 7pm (look for me to be announcing at the start!) and runs down Central Avenue (south) to Camelback Road (east) to Seventh Street (south).

Parade starting location: Central Ave. and Montebello Ave.

Parade ending location: 7th St. and Indian School Rd.

When: December 3rd at 7pm
