Less than two hours north of Phoenix lies the tiny town of Strawberry, Arizona. This quant gem of a community is paradise for a weekend getaway - from shops to dining to unique lodging all close to unbeatable hiking, lakes and views it's got a little something for everyone. And so does the PIEbar. This little empanada shop has become a Strawberry staple. Lines out the door almost all day and a busy staff baking these flaky goodies without pause. Don't let the line deter you, though. It's worth the short wait. Plus they have the cutest dog-friendly (and kid-friendly) outdoor seating area complete with cornhole and hula-hoops and umbrellas for a sunny (or rainy) day. But let's talk empanadas. Some menu items change seasonally (you MUST try the strawberry rhubarb in the summer) but the staples are staples for a reason. The Mountain Man is filled with cheesy potatoes and cheese and gravy and will satisfy even the hungriest guy (or girl) and the Mountain Baby will satisfy the kid in you with bacon and mac n cheese! I also always go for the molten chocolate and can't say no to any of their breakfast options!
Link to their menu can be found HERE for all the flaky, mouth-watering goodness.
And here's a MAP to the location just in case you haven't been to Strawberry!
