Earth Day. One of my favorite holidays. A day to celebrate the outdoors and everything in it. Make sure YOU are in it all weekend long making a difference right here where we live! Here are some great ways you can give back.
Huckleberry's and Goodwill Donation Drive
Today and tomorrow (Saturday, the 22nd) Huckleberry's and Goodwill Industries will team up to host a donation drive.
Huckleberry’s parking lot on the South Hill (926 S. Monroe) from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
This year to celebrate Earth Day, Huckleberry’s will be giving away a free tree to each customer who donates!
Goodwill requests gently used items like: Clothing, Shoes & Accessories, Home Décor, Electronics, Small Appliances, Sports Equipment and Books.
Earth Day Spokane 2017
Spokane's annual Earth Day festival will take place under the Pavilion in Riverfront Park. The two-day event will feature vendors and more than 50 performances on three stages. Procession of Species Parade
EVERYONE is welcome to participate in the traditional Earth Day Spokane Procession of the Species Parade! Make a recycled mask or hat, make a costume, or paint your face at the Shriner's booth and march on Saturday at 1:30pm. Meet under the Pavillion.
Tree Planting
Volunteers are needed to help plant trees with the along the Spokane River Gorge and in the Hangman Watershed. Sat, April 22 from 9 am-1 pm. Sign up online at nwscouts.org/earthday
Spring Clean Up
Sign up to work as an individual, a family, or a group (church, school, business, etc.) to rake, weed, and do general yard clean-up for low-income seniors and disabled adults in Spokane County.
