Did you know more pets become lost July 4th, than any other day of the year? Did you know the fastest way to help a lost animal find it's way back home is through a micro-chip?
On Saturday, June 22nd from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., Friends for Life, VCA Animal Hospitals, and Camp Bow Wow are teaming up for a free micro-chip-a-thon, just in time for the Independence Day festivities!
The event will take place at the Friends for Life Adoption Center, located at 952 W. Melody Avenue in Gilbert, and will feature a free micro-chip-a-thon, indoor air conditioned canine fitness runs by Run Buddy Mobile, Sweet Cream Ice Cream and Food Truck, canine games, prizes, swag bags, and much more!
"Nothing is more heart breaking than finding a stray and often frightened animal, and not having a way to reunite them with a family they are obviously missing," said Friends for Life spokesperson Barb Savoy. "We are literally working with stray animals daily, and fielding inquiries from panicked families trying to reunite with their missing pets. All Friends for Life adoptive animals are micro-chipped, but working with great partners like VCA and Camp Bow Wow to help provide micro-chips to pets ahead of the July 4th holiday is something we aspire to do at least once a year, as a way to give back to the community that gives so much to us."
