I recently spoke with Karen Hughes for our Valley Views program. Karen is an amazing person! She is totally blind, but with help from her trusty guide dog Joyce she makes her way through the Valley. Karen talked with me about blindness, about Joyce, and about the upcoming AZCB convention.
The Arizona Council of the Blind (AZCB) will hold its statewide Convention and Annual Meeting on Friday, May 3rd, 2019 from 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM.The Arizona Council of the Blind is the state affiliate of the American Council of the Blind, a national non-profit organization promoting and advocating for the rights, interests, and abilities of blind and visually impaired persons.
The one-day convention will be held at the Arizona Center for the Blind and Visually Impaired, located at 3100 E. Roosevelt St., Phoenix, AZ 85008. Join us to discuss topics such as combined vision and hearing loss, enhancing independence with Aira, and a keynote from Arizona State Representative Jennifer Longdon.
