St Mary's Food Bank needs sites for kids Summer Feeding sites!

St. Mary’s Food Bank is once again gearing up its Summer Feeding program, with the goal of keeping thousands of Arizona children eating healthy through the summer!

Soon the school year and free/reduced breakfast and lunch made available to students will end. St. Mary’s aims to fill that void for families in need!

St. Mary’s hopes to have more than 200 summer feeding locations up and running to provide meals, so the Food Bank needs your help. If your summer program, church, organization or apartment complex has kids or kids in the area in need of meals, there are just three criteria that need to be met:

  • Each site must feed a minimum of 25 kids at least three days a week
  • There must be a refrigeration capability to keep the meals cold
  • Each site must provide a safe, clean space where kids can eat and feel welcome!

For information on becoming a St. Mary’s Food Bank 2019 Summer Feeding site or information on the nearest site for your child, contact St. Mary’s Community Engagement Manager Jose Urteaga at (480) 685-0718 or jurteaga@firstfoodbank.org.

I spoke with Jose and Jerry Brown from St Mary's about the summer program and also the Letter Carriers Food Drive which is coming up Saturday May 11. This is now the largest single-day food drive in the country and it started right here in Phoenix! Listen below for information about the Summer Feeding program and the Letter Carriers' Food Drive!
