Marshall Shore is Arizona's "Hip Historian", a moniker he picked up when
speaking at the State Capitol at the Arizona Centennial. He joined me for our
Valley Views program to talk about the Phoenix Pioneer and Military Memorial
Park, located near the capitol between 13th and 15 Ave, from Jefferson
south to Jackson. It's a fascinating place for students of Arizona history, and the
perfect place for the annual Memorial Day tribute to our fallen heroes. I will
be hosting the Memorial Day program, which begins at 9am and features a
presentation of groups in authentic dress of the various periods, speakers and
