In the photo above, our President of iHeartMedia Arizona region Linda Little celebrates the signing of the Unity Pledge with One Community leader Angela Hughey.
For the past couple of months Angela has been recording 15 minute interviews with members
of the LGBTQ community and others involved with LGBTQ issues to air on the Mix 96.9 HD2 channel,
The “Pride” channel. These interviews are also available on the iHeartRadio app as podcasts. Angela is an excellent interviewer with a thorough knowledge of her field as the head of One Community, a member-based coalition of socially responsible businesses, organizations and individuals who support and promote diversity, inclusion and equality for all Arizonans.
I have been engineering these sessions for her and have been really impressed with and moved by what I’ve heard. So this week, I have included an interview with Angela in Valley Views, and added an excerpt from her series with two women who became a gay couple in Texas 60 years ago this month! They were the lead plaintiffs in one of two lawsuits that resulted in the legislation of same-sex marriage in Arizona and were in fact the first such couple legally married in Arizona. They are delightful ladies and I think you will really enjoy meeting them.
The podcasts are available on iHeartRadio as Off the Record with Angela Hughey.
First, here's my interview with Angela ...
And here is Angela's interview with Nelda and Karen .. I know you will love these two ladies and
marvel at their story. This interview and all the other Off the Record interviews can be found on
the iHeartRadio app in the podcasts section.
