Yes there is water in the West Valley and the 15th annual Tres Rios Nature Festival gives you a
chance to do a little fishing, with all the gear and bait provided, canoeing and kayaking, bird
watching and more. This is a wonderful free family event put on by the Avondale Parks and
Recreation department. Even the canoeing, kayaking, and paddle boarding is free! The Arizona
Game and Fish Department pitches in as well with educational and fun exhibits including
learning to shoot a bow and arrow! Entertainment is provided as well with music ffrom
Run Boy Run, Jam Pak, D-Squared, and Jarabe Mexicano. The event takes place from 10- 4
Mar 3 & 4 at the Base & Meridian Wildlife area adjacent to ISM Raceway (formerly PIR)
Take Avondale Blavd south from I-10 to the free parking.
