Every year groups of architects, designers, and construction folks design and build
amazing structures using cans of food and other non-perishable food items in the
hallways of the Phoenix convention center. The structures involve months of design
and fund raising, with the build taking place this year on July 29.
The public is invited to view the structures during business hours (whenever the
convention center is open) thru Aug 11. At that point the structures are taken
down and ALL the food is donated to St Mary's Food Bank! I spoke with this
years co-chairs Sarah Clegg and Dana Varieur, as well as Jerry Brown from St Mary's.
