Moms usually have so much on their plates that taking a vacation may seem as likely as winning the lottery, but they deserve a getaway more than just about anyone. And hotels are catching on and are now focusing on the needs of busy moms by offering packages to help them relax and unwind, with no kids in sight. The trendy term for these mini-vacays is momcation and the idea is to leave the kids with a partner so mama can soak-up some kid-free time at a resort doing whatever she wants.
For some moms, that means checking into a hotel alone for a long weekend to watch TV and order room service. Others may prefer a fancy resort with spa services for an indulgent momcation and the good thing is that you can find weekend escapes for moms that come in a rage of prices and options. On the high end, the“Mom-cation” packageat the Resort at Pelican Hill in Newport Beach, California starts at $745 a night. That includes a “Guilt be Gone” bath bomb, a $50 spa credit, a branded bathrobe to take home, and a free bottle of wine of their choice.
And if you’re looking for something more budget-friendly, the Archer Hotel, a boutique chain with locations in cities likeAustinandNew York, offers a momcations package for as little as $144 a night at many locations that includes a complimentary bottle of wine and a $10 amenity credit. Their Napa location also offers a more luxe package - the“Mom’s Wine Country Getaway”- which comes with homemade salted caramels, a bathrobe and slippers, and “complimentary Wi-Fi and a flat-screen TV with premium channels—plus a remote you won’t have to share.”
