Red Hot Rita margarita mix! Beth & Jan fire up your Monday morning!

 

“The Red Hot Rita!”

Why not start a new “spirited” holiday tradition?
This Red Hot Rita is so gorgeous, yummy and will be the talk of the party!

For the Base:

2 cups white Tequila (for 5 drinks)
10 Brach’s Cinnamon Imperial Candies (or any cinnamon hard candy)

Directions:

In a small saucepan, combine 2 cups of white tequila with 10 cinnamon hard candies.
(That will make about 5 drinks.) Heat tequila and stir candies until dissolved. Cool and set aside.

To Make the Drink:

3 oz White Tequila /Cinnamon Candy Mixture
1 ½ oz Cointreau
1 oz Agave Nectar (or honey)
1 teaspoon fresh squeezed lime juice
Green decorative salt for lining the rim
Ice for the shaker
1 small candy cane per drink

Directions: (per drink)

Pour green sugar onto a shallow salad plate. Using a piece of lime, wet the rim of the glass. Roll the rim of the margarita glass around in the sugar.
Fill a shaker with ice. Add Tequila, Cointreau, agave nectar, and lime juice. Give it a quick shake. Pour into green-rimmed glass. Hook candy cane on the rim. Enjoy!
