But some states do a better job than others at treating their teachers fairly, and a new report reveals which ones they are.
WalletHub has just come out with their list of 2018’s Best and Worst States for Teachers, judging the 50 states and District of Columbia on 22 key indicators of teacher-friendliness, including average starting salary, income growth potential, pupil-to-teacher ratio, teacher security, quality of school system and more.
So, which state is the best for teachers? Well, believe it or not, it’s New York, which scores a 64.55 out of 100, coming in fourth for opportunity and competition, and sixth for academic and work environment.
