The April 2023 Winner for the Beth McDonald Woman of the year is Nicole Cooney.
Nicole was nominated by a co-worker named Wanda who wrote.
"Mrs. Cooney is a kindergarten teacher at ZUNI Hills Elementary School. She teaches Special Needs Children which is very very challenging most times. She has the patience's of a saint, caring, understanding, constantly making folders with Velcro for a child that cannot walk, talk or barley use her hands. She spends a lot of her own money for whatever she thinks is needed to teach these children. For learning the alphabet system, she buys and brings something for the children to eat that starts with that alphabet. She is also very caring and considerate to her assistants that help in class and vice versa. This is why she should be nominated for woman of the year. "
