Cher has confirmed her romance with Alexander "AE" Edwards. The pair were photographed holding hands on their way to dinner in Los Angeles on November 2nd and prompting reports of a potential relationship. Fans have been quick to point out the 40-year age gap between the legendary singer and the 36-year-old music executive.

According to People, Cher addressed the relationship in a series of tweets. On Sunday, November 6th, the singer shared a grainy photo of her new boyfriend and simply wrote, "Alexander," with a red heart emoji.

In a follow-up tweet, Cher told fans, "I’m Not Defending us. Haters are Gonna Hate…Doesn’ [sic.] Matter That we’re Happy & Not Bothering Anyone."

Cher also reportedly directly addressed her and AE's 40-year age gap in a deleted tweet, according to People. "LOVE DOESN'T KNOW MATH, IT SEES ❤️❤️," the 76-year-old wrote in the deleted tweet captured by The Shade Room. She also included a lesson from the late Tibetan Buddhist teacher and author Sogyal Rinpoche. "Rinpoche told me, 'Some people meet, others recognize," she added.

The singer also responded to fans and shared that AE has been treating her like a queen and "everyone in my family has" met him. AE previously dated Amber Rose and the two share a 3-year-old son named Slash. They began dating in 2018 but called it quits after three years when AE was caught cheating on Rose with several different women, Page Six reports.

Cher was previously married to Sonny Bono from 1964 to 1975 and the two gave birth to their son Chaz, who is now 53. She later married Gregg Allman from 1975 to 1979 and the two share a son Elijah, 46.
