Scientists on a deep sea expedition off Australia say they've brought up a fish with no face.
The fish has no eyes or visible nose and it's mouth is on the underside of its body. The species has been recorded only once before now, and that was in 1873.
The expedition began two weeks ago and another weird creature the scientists have turned up since, is a carnivorous sponge that spears small fish with sharp Velcro-like spines and slowly digests their prey while holding it.
The chef scientist calls the search area from Tasmania north toward the Coral Sea "the most unexplored environment on earth."
