Pink Floyd has officially entered the animal kingdom. A newly discovered shrimp with a bright pink claw has been named after the iconic rockers.
It turns out the international group of researchers who discovered the new species on the Las Perlas Islands (located on Panama's Pacific coast) are all Pink Floyd fans.
"I have been listening to Floyd since 'The Wall' was released in 1979, when I was 14 year old," Sammy De Grave, head researcher at the Oxford University museum said. "The description of this new species of pistol shrimp was the perfect opportunity to finally give a nod to my favorite band.
