The R. Bernard Funeral Home is located in a building that's was at one point a bank. So owner Ryan Bernard decided why not use the drive-thru window for visitations. Mourners can now pay respects and not have to leave their cars. All a family has to do is schedule a visitation time, show up and sign in and then view the dearly departed.
The process is simple: guests pull up to a window, where they sign in on an iPad and then receive up to three minutes of viewing time.
Bernard says the advantages to a drive-thru visitation include avoiding the stress of a large funeral and bad weather while providing extra convenience. So far, four families have taken advantage of the drive-thru funeral viewings.
