It's the KEZ Teacher Feature supported by the Arizona State Fair!
This month’s incredible educator is a 2nd grade teacher from Oakwood Elementary School in Peoria!
We are so excited to introduce you to Lauren Navarro who goes above and beyond to provide a creative, fun, interactive, unique space for each child goes above and beyond to create a loving, interactive , exciting space for each child to learn. Every day is an adventure in Miss Navarro's class and she is a true leader, adored by her students, their parents, her fellow teachers and peers, her parents (who we were so excited to meet during our visit) and the whole community.
Miss Navarro was nominated by a retired teacher who has had two grandchildren in her class, "Miss Navarro has had both of our grandsons for second grade. She is the very definition of gifted teacher. Every topic she teaches is an adventure with themes and props. For Veteran's day, she invites family members of the students, to include hers, to come to class and describe their service so that the kids can put a face to the sacrifice. Over Christmas break, she was at the school almost every day so that her room was sub-arctic for the study of polar bears. Our grandsons looked forward to going to school every day and the older one visits her room every day even though he has not been there for two years. I retired from teaching first grade after 30 years and I can say I've never seen anyone more suited for the job than Ms. Navarro. She was truly born to teach."
