This month’s incredible educator is a teacher from Valley View Leadership Academy, a Title One school in the Roosevelt School District in South Phoenix…also home to generations of students & teachers whose lives have been touched by this wonderful woman in her 23 years there.
We are so excited to introduce you to Lee Wonderling. The following is the letter we received nominating her for this month's prize.
"I am the instructional coach at Valley View, a Title One school in the Roosevelt School District in South Phoenix. I teach with phenomenal teachers, one of which is Lee Wonderling. Mrs. Wonderling is a 3rd grade teacher. Mrs. Wonderling has been a teacher at Valley View for 23 years and attended Valley View as a child herself. Mrs Wonderling isn’t just an amazing teacher, taking on normal tasks of teaching and tutoring, but also goes out of her way to support staff with leading professional development for our teachers. Mrs. Wonderling also serves as our teacher advocate, serving on our teachers union to provide a voice for supporting teachers mental health and rights at the school level and district level. She sits on our leadership team and many school level decisions require her opinion and forward thinking to implement school wide. She is a true leader. Adored by family, peers, and her community. She gives so much of herself, her time, her money, and resources to the school and our valley view community and she never asks or expects for anything in return."
Miss Wonderling was presented with $500 thanks to our friends with the Arizona State Fair as well as a pizza party for her class of "Little Wonders" from Spinatos Pizza! ❤️
