I am convinced that there can be luxury in simplicity.
This Airbnb proves that.
Remember that show with Paris Hilton and Nichole Richie called the Simple Life? I always felt everyone needed to experience that. This is the place to do it. The luxury is in the quiet. The wide open spaces. The wildlife. The farmlife. The cowboy pool and outdoor shower and clawfoot tub. The way the rain beats down on a tin roof and rainbows paint the fuchsia sunset skies. The simplicity in a tiny trailer perfect for a girl and her dog. Cooking outdoors on a propane grill. Front-porch sittin’ with a cold glass of lemonade splashing among clinking ice. Combine the two and you’ll find the respite you’ve been craving – even if you didn’t know it.
In my short weekend here, I cooled off in a horse trough while pinion jays and summer tanagers danced and sang catching flies in the sunlight. I witnessed the most spectacular monsoon I've ever imagined followed by the smell of fresh rain, a magical sunset and a double rainbow that lasted for over an hour as the storm blew across the evening sky. I warmed up in a claw foot tub under the stars, crickets chirping and local bath bombs fizzing all around me adding the scent of lavender to a fresh mountain breeze. I ate mindfully and sipped slowly under a covered porch on an adirondack chair with the softest carpet under my bare feet as my pup chased bunnies and bumped noses with the local cows and goat. In my short weekend here, I came alive again.
