"Happiness cannot be traveled to, owned, earned, worn or consumed. Happiness is the spiritual experience of living every minute with love, grace, and gratitude."
- Denis Waitley
Chapter Four: Reflection.
The final leg of this celebratory road trip brought me to a little homestead on the edge of the Gifford Pinchot National Forest.
Here is a place to disconnect. To unwind. To relax. To let your mind wander.
Little reminders appear throughout the property reminding guests to stop. To slow down and breath. To give thanks.
I have unlimited gratitude for what sobriety has given me. It is by no means the dirty word most associate it with. However, it shouldn’t be the sole definitive one either. This last year I became Sober Sara. From this point on I would hope my continued sobriety makes me more than that.
Kind. Loving. Selfless. Inspiring. Patient.
Present.
Keep breathing. And if you can, find a way to light that fire under your ass to get the process started. Because one day you just may find yourself where I have tonight...surrounded by beauty in a claw foot tub under an endless fuchsia sky with a fire literally lit under my ass. And I can say one thing for sure...I’m not letting it go out any time soon.
