First off, I'm sorry for posting all this glorious food stuff if you're trying to watch your weight going into the holidays. But Prevention magazine says that business about people gaining between 7 and 10 pounds over the holidays ...is a MYTH! In reality, we only gain about a pound (one stinkin' pound!) over what we weighed in mid-November! So enjoy!

Tree Lighting Festival at Outlets At Anthem is Saturday (11/16) from noon to 5 pm. Visit the North Pole Express, Penguin Peaks, and the Holiday Pavillion for family activities, and meet-and-greets with the Grinch, Anna, Elsa and Olaf! The actual tree lighting ceremony will go from 5 to 6 pm.
The Phoenix Pizza Festival is Saturday (11/16) from 11 am to 5 pm at Margaret T. Hance Park. Featuring about 20 of the best pie makers in Arizona! Admission is $10, and pizza slices vary between $2 and $4. Craft beer and wine, live music, games and a kid's zone!
Mac And Cheese Festival AZ returns to Salt River Fields at Talking Stick Saturday and Sunday (11/16-11/17) Both days 11 am to 6 pm. Over 25 restaurants will be serving up $2 mac and cheese tastes, plus a craft beer tent and lawn games, and a kid's zone. Admission is $15.
Downtown Donut Festival is Sunday (11/17) from 10 am to 4 pm at Margaret T. Hance Park. Admission is $8-10, with donuts starting at $1. Lots of free samples too. And it won't be just donuts that are available. You'll also find fried chicken, pizza, burgers and more!
