During one of her breaks with Syleste and Troy on FOX10 this morning, Beth said she had made a big batch of Sloppy Joes over the weekend. I hadn't even had breakfast yet, but she got me salivating for Sloppy Joes. And the recipe she uses (no. Not the canned stuff) sounded so simple. It's pretty much THIS:
1 lb lean ground beef
1/4 cup chopped onion
1/4 cup chopped green bell pepper
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon prepared yellow mustard
3/4 cup of ketchup
3 tablespoons brown sugar
Salt and pepper to taste
In a medium skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef, onions and green bell peppers. Drain off excess liquids.
Stir in the garlic powder, mustard, ketchup, and brown sugar.
Reduce heat and simmer for 30 minutes. Add salt and pepper to taste. Enjoy!!
