This new show on Netflix scared me so dang badly that I stopped watching it. At least, at night. It is sooo good, I couldn't NOT watch it. The characters are so involving, and watchable. And the gothic setting is perfect for the lead-up to Halloween! Especially on some of the rainy days we've had in the Valley recently! This isn't the first remake of the Shirley Jackson original story, and fans of that version will find creator, Mike Flanahan, has made something completely new of her story. Some are calling it "genius." And now that Mike has posted some insider things about the show, we come to find out that while we were busy being scared for what we COULD see, there was plenty we MISSED! Ghosts in corners that escaped our view the first time. I've been bummed that I finished the whole season, but now I'm going back to see what I missed. Genius!
