Steve Perry Is Teasing Something New!

It's looking as though Steve Perry is about to make some type of major announcement. Best Classic Bands posted: "Perry created a website -- StevePerry.com, naturally -- and established a Facebook page and Twitter account. Each featured the handwritten words'I know it’s Been a long Time Comin'. . .' He also established accounts on Instagram and YouTube. His Facebook account has the verified blue check." Perry's first album since 1994's For The Love of Strange Medicine is expected to drop some time this fall, but fans have gotten used to waiting when it comes to the former-Journey frontman delivering new music.

Last month, '90s pop rockers Toad The Wet Sprocket posted a video on Facebook of Perry harmonizing with them in rehearsal, with the band writing, "What do you say when Steve Perry crashes your tour rehearsal and wants to sing??? YES!"

DID YOU KNOW???

  • Back in March, Journey’s 1988 Greatest Hits collection has just reached the milestone 500-week mark on the Billboard 200 albums chart. The set is only the third album to ever spend that much time on the Billboard chart, with Bob Marley & The Wailers' 1984 compilation, Legend: The Best Of Bob Marley & The Wailers spending 510 weeks on the charts and Pink Floyd’s 1973 classic,The Dark Side Of The Moon, spending a whopping 937 weeks on the Billboard 200.
  • Journey's Greatest Hits was released on November 15th, 1988, and debuted on the Billboard chart the following month, peaking at Number 10. It has since sold 15 million copies. A followup album, 2011's Greatest Hits 2, was compiled by former frontman, Steve Perry.

SIDE NOTES

  • In April 2017, Steve Perry announced he would release his first new album since 1996's Trial By Fire -- his last fronting Journey. Perry shed light on the new project tentatively due out in October, telling ABC News, "I met someone and I fell in love with this person. And I lost this person to breast cancer four years ago. In the midst of that, I had written some songs, and before I met her I had sketched some. And so about a year ago, I started recording. Basically the record is an emotional expression, and a reason to make one. It's been a real cathartic experience going back to that emotional place that I thought I would never go back to. And we really have been doing our very best to capture what I think are some timeless songs."
  • Perry never officially announced nor released the album. That same month he graciously appeared with the members of Journey at the Rock Hall inductions -- but chose not to sing.
