Internet Is Freaking Over 'Funeral Potatoes'

Have you ever heard of the dish called 'funeral potatoes'? The internet is a bit freaked out after spotting a Walmart Facebook advertisement for the bagged food item. The "Funeral Potatoes" come in a 13.6-ounce "food pouch," and the photo on the package shows the finished product looking like a creamy potato casserole. Many Facebook users posted about seeing the ad and being at least mildly offended by it. But, The Wall Street Journal notes that funeral potatoes are a beloved staple of church functions, and are made from shredded hash browns, onions, butter, cheddar cheese, sour cream, and are sometimes topped with cornflakes.
