John Legend went live on Facebook yesterday to give fans a sneak preview into his starring role in Jesus Christ Superstar Live in Concert, airing Sunday on NBC.
Jesus Christ Superstar is a 1970s rock opera by composers Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice. For the live TV adaptation, NBC has tapped Legend, as well as Alice Cooper and Sara Bareilles, to bring the musical to the small screen on Easter Sunday. Webber and Rice are also acting as executive producers.
In the Facebook Live video, Legend and Bareilles rehearse the energetic “What’s the Buzz” with a cast of dancers.
Jesus Christ Superstar Live in Concert airs Sunday on NBC.
