A one-day event aimed at women overcoming challenges in finding resources and employment opportunities to support themselves and their families are invited to attend “Stand Up for Women.”
This free event will be held on April 26, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Fresh Start Women’s Foundation located at 1130 E. McDowell Road Phoenix, AZ.
“Stand Up for Women” will feature a long list of community resources. Among them that are scheduled to appear: Fresh Start Women’s Foundation, Maximus employment programs, St. Joseph the Worker, and Adelante Healthcare support services who will help enroll attendees in WIC, AHCCCS, & SNAP programs. Community Colleges and Universities will be on hand to assist with financial aid applications

In addition, there will be a group of employers in a variety of industries in search of employees. Employers like Abacus Staffing, Aramark, Cypress Home Care, and Cyracom just to name a few.
“The main goal is to help women who have come from a place of crisis or need and are looking to find employment and resources to get them in a better place,” says Jessica Starr, District Manager of Abacus Staffing.
