Call 8-1-1 before you dig! And other gas safety tips

Imagine that you were going to do some work in your back yard that involved digging.  You start to dig or the contractor you hired starts up his Ditch Witch and "CLANK" you hit a metal gas line!  If you're lucky you are able to stop there and get help before a gas leak creates serious problems.
The easier way is to just call 8-1-1 a few days before digging and a rep from the gas company will come out and locate and mark the gas pipes for you.  NO Charge.  It's that easy.
Southwest Gas Public Information Officer Amy Washburn joined me for a Valley Views interview about the Blue Stake "Call 8-1-1" program and other natural gas safety tips and some ideas to help save a few dollars during the cold weather months as well.
