Vets .. call 2-1-1 for Vets Community Connection

If you are a veteran and need help with or information about ANYTHING, you
can call 2-1-1 to get answers and referrals.  Or you can visit www.vetscommunityconnections.org
I spoke with two community leaders, both veterans, about Veterans Community
Connections.  How to access information if you are a vet, and about how to offer
to help veterans if you have a service to provide.  Here is my conversation for

Here in Maricopa County, Vets’ Community Connections provides an easy, direct
and human channel for people like us to talk by phone with veterans and family
members who have questions about life in the Valley of the Sun
Questions about career paths in our professions
Questions about schools in the neighborhoods in which we live
Questions about volunteering with organizations with which we are involved
Questions about auto repair and home maintenance
Questions about arts, sports and recreation opportunities
Questions that our own personal and professional experiences make us qualified to answer
And give us the opportunity to talk with local veterans, military members and their families
that make it clear they are our fellow citizens.  That they are welcome here.  That they belong here.
If you have ten minutes from time to time to answer questions like these from our friends
and neighbors who have served in uniform, you can be a valuable community resource for
Vets Community Connections  It’s easy to sign up.   And you can participate on your own
time and on your own schedule.Veterans and family members can just call 2-1-1 with their
question.If you are a match to answer that question, Vet Connectors at 211 will email you
and the veteran caller, to link you so that you can set a time convenient to each of you to
talk by phone.  Got Ten Minutes For a Vet?  This Veterans’ Day,  all of us, from all walks of life,
can do more than just say “thanks for your service”
