ADOT recently announced that they have a new project underway to
deal with the problem of wrong-way drivers on valley freeways. This is
a problem that has been on everyone's mind and ADOT is in the process
of installing thermal cameras, an instant detection system, and new
lighted warning signs to try to stem the tide of wrong-way drivers. I
spoke with ADOT spokesperson Doug Nintzel about the project which
is currently being installed in a prototype along I-17 in Phoenix.
