ADOT’s Weekend Freeway Travel Advisory (May 31- June 3)
Loop 101 project starting in East Valley; Grand Ave restrictions in West Valley
·Southbound Loop 101 (Price Freeway) closed between US 60 in Mesa and Warner Road in Chandler from 10 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday (June 3) for work zone setup. DETOUR: Expect heavy traffic and allow extra travel time. Eastbound US 60 traffic can use southbound McClintock Drive to Ray Road to reconnect with southbound Loop 101. Westbound US 60 traffic can use southbound Dobson Road to Ray Road to reconnect with Loop 101. Southbound Loop 101 traffic can use the Price Road frontage road.
·Eastbound I-10 narrowed to one lane at 59th Avenue in Phoenix from 8 p.m. Friday to 4 a.m. Saturday (June 1) and from 8 p.m. Sunday to 4 a.m. Monday (June 3) for bridge work at the South Mountain Freeway interchange. DETOUR: Expect heavy traffic and allow extra travel time. Prepare to slow down and merge in work zone.
·Grand Avenue (US 60) restricted at Meeker Boulevard/Reems Road in Surprise from 9 p.m. Friday to 9 p.m. Sunday (June 2) for pavement improvements. No left turns will be allowed. Traffic on Meeker and Reems Road approaching Grand Avenue will be limited to right turns only. DETOUR: Please allow extra travel time. Motorists on eastbound Grand Avenue looking to make a left turn can use R.H. Johnson Boulevard. Westbound traffic can use Parkview Place as a detour for left turns.
·Seventh Street closed in both directions at Loop 101 (Pima Freeway) in Phoenix nightly from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. Friday through Monday (June 3) for work on the widening project. DETOUR: Northbound Seventh Street traffic can take the frontage road to Cave Creek Road to access westbound Loop 101. Southbound Seventh Street traffic can take the frontage road to Seventh Avenue to access eastbound Loop 101. NOTE: Freeway ramps and frontage roads will remain open during the closure, but north-south travel under the freeway overpass will be restricted.
