ADOT’s Weekend Freeway Travel Advisory (May 3-6)
Part of Loop 202 (Santan Freeway) closed in East Valley
·Loop 202 (Santan Freeway) closed in both directions between US 60 (Superstition Freeway) in Mesa and Williams Field Road in Gilbert from 10 p.m. Friday to 3 a.m. Monday (May 6) for pavement improvements. Both US 60 ramps to southbound Loop 202 closed. State Route 24 (Gateway Freeway) closed at Ellsworth Road.DETOUR: Alternate routes include US 60 and Loop 101 (Price Freeway) as well as Loop 202 (Red Mountain Freeway). Please allow extra travel time. NOTE: Crews will work to reopen sections of Loop 202 in stages as the work progresses over the weekend.
·Eastbound Interstate 10 closed between the I-17 “Stack” interchange and State Route 51 (Piestewa Freeway) from 9 p.m. Friday to 9 a.m. Saturday (May 4) for tunnel cleaning and maintenance. Both I-17 ramps to eastbound I-10 at the Stack closed. DETOUR: Eastbound I-10 traffic can detour to southbound I-17 at the Stack and connect with I-10 at the “Split” interchange near Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport.
·Westbound Interstate 10 closed between the I-17 “Split” interchange near Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport and Seventh Avenue from 9 p.m. Saturday to 9 a.m. Sunday (May 5) for tunnel cleaning and maintenance. The southbound SR 51 and westbound Loop 202 ramps to westbound I-10 at the Mini-Stack interchange closed. Drivers using the westbound Sky Harbor Boulevard exit to westbound I-10 or the westbound I-10 on-ramp at Washington Street will only be able to access northbound SR 51 or eastbound Loop 202 (Red Mountain Freeway). Southbound I-17 ramp to westbound I-10 near Sky Harbor Airport closed. DETOUR: Westbound I-10 traffic approaching the closure can detour on northbound I-17 and connect with I-10 at the Stack interchange north of Van Buren Street.
·Interstate 10 narrowed to two lanes in both directionsbetween 59th and 83rd avenues in west Phoenix from 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday (May 6) for paving at the Loop 202 South Mountain Freeway interchange. Eastbound I-10 on-ramp and westbound off-ramp at 79th Avenue (HOV-lane ramps) closed. DETOUR: Please allow extra travel time and consider alternate routes to avoid heavy traffic during peak travel times.
