ADOT’s Weekend Freeway Travel Advisory (July 20-23) 

Westbound I-10 closed between 51st and 67th avenues for bridge work

Westbound Interstate 10 closed between 51st and 67th avenues from 10 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday (July 23) for girder installation at the Loop 202 South Mountain Freeway interchange. Westbound I-10 on-ramps at 35th and 43rd avenues also closed. DETOUR: Consider alternate routes to avoid slow traffic. Westbound I-10 traffic exiting at 51st Avenue can detour along the westbound I-10 access road or use westbound McDowell Road or Van Buren Street before re-entering I-10 via 67th Avenue. Alternate routes include Loop 101 in West Valley. NOTE: Eastbound I-10 narrowed to two lanes or closed intermittently for up to 15 minutes as needed near 59th Avenue from 9 p.m. Friday to 3 p.m. Saturday (July 21) for bridge work. Please allow extra travel time and consider alternate routes, including Loop 101.

Northbound and southbound State Route 51 (Piestewa Freeway) off-ramps at Indian School Road restricted with no turns allowed to eastbound Indian School Road from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday (July 21-22) for a city of Phoenix waterline project. SR 51 traffic exiting at Indian School Road limited to westbound turns. Eastbound Indian School Road narrowed to one lane near SR 51. DETOUR: Consider using Thomas Road as alternate route
