I-10 CLOSED tonight! plus other Road Closures

ADOT Weekend Freeway Travel Advisory (Nov. 3-6) 

 

Westbound Interstate 10 closed at 59th Avenue from 10 p.m. Friday to noon Saturday (Nov. 4) for bridge construction at Loop 202 South Mountain Freeway interchange. Westbound I-10 on-ramps at 43rd and 51st avenues also closed. Expect heavy traffic and delays. DETOUR: Westbound I-10 traffic will detour along the off- and on-ramps at 59th Avenue. Consider alternate routes, including westbound and southbound Loop 101 in the West Valley. NOTE: Westbound I-10 also closed overnight at 59th Avenue from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Sunday through Wednesday nights (Nov. 5-9). 

 

 

 

Northbound Interstate 17 narrowed to two lanes (left two lanes closed) near Dunlap Avenue from 9 p.m. Friday to 9 a.m. Saturday (Nov. 4) for installation of wrong-way vehicle detection system. Southbound I-17 HOV lane closed in same area. I-17 off-ramps at Northern Avenue (both directions) also closed. 

 

   Interstate 17 off-ramps at Greenway Road (both directions) and the northbound I-17 off-ramps at Bethany Home Road and Union Hills Driveclosedfrom 9 p.m. Saturday to 9 a.m. Sunday (Nov. 5) for installation of wrong-way vehicle detection system. I-17 off-ramps at Cactus Road (both directions) and the northbound I-17 off-ramp at Utopia Road closed from 9 p.m. Sunday to 5 a.m. Monday (Nov. 6). DETOUR: Please use other nearby off-ramps to exit I-17. 

 

 

 

Northbound Interstate 17 narrowed to one lane overnight between Jefferson Street and Indian School Road from 10 p.m. Sunday to 5 a.m. Monday (Nov. 6) for overhead sign work. DETOUR: Please allow extra travel time and consider alternate routes, including northbound State Route 51 to westbound Loop 101. NOTE: Northbound I-17 also narrowed to one lane overnight in areas between Indian School Road and Loop 101 in north Phoenix from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. Monday through Thursday nights (Nov. 5-9) for sign installation. 

 

 

 

Northbound Interstate 17 off-ramp at 19th Avenue closed from 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday (Nov. 6) for Southwest Gas pipeline project. Southbound 19th Avenue closed between the I-17 interchange and Hilton Avenue (south of I-17). The northbound I-17 frontage road will be open in the area. Southbound I-17 off-ramp will be open with access to Durango Street. Traffic using eastbound Durango Street/frontage road will not have access to southbound 19th Avenue. DETOUR: Northbound I-17 drivers who normally exit at 19th Avenue should consider other exits, including Seventh Avenue.    North- and southbound Interstate 17 frontage roads closed between Buckeye Road and Grant Street from 9 p.m. Saturday to 3 p.m. Sunday (Nov. 5) for APS and Cox Communications utility work. Northbound I-17 on-ramp at Grant Street also closed. DETOUR: Consider alternate routes, including northbound 19th Avenue or southbound 27th Avenue. 


CITYSCAPE PHOENIX ICE RINK

Central Avenue between Jefferson and Washington streets is scheduled to be closed beginning Wednesday, Nov. 1, through Friday, Jan. 26, 2018.

During this event, Central Avenue through traffic will be detoured at Jefferson Street to Second Street.

 

BOB’S BIKER BLAST

The self-guided ride, starting at Phoenix Children’s Hospital, kicks off the 6th Annual Bob’s Biker Blast on Saturday, Nov. 4.

The following street will be restricted between 10 a.m. and 2:30 p.m.:

Eastbound Thomas Road – 16th Street to State Route 51

Police officers will be on-site to assist with traffic control.

All streets will be open to normal traffic by 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 4.

COLON CANCER ALLIANCE UNDY 5000

This event will start and finish at 16th Avenue and Adams Street beginning 9 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 4.

The following streets will be closed at 7:30 a.m.:

 Washington Street – First to 15th avenues Adams Street – 15th to 19th avenues 17th Avenue – Adams to Jefferson streets Jefferson Street – Third to 19th avenues Third Avenue – Jefferson to Adams streets. 

Police officers will be on-site to assist with traffic control.

All streets will be open to normal traffic by 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 4.

HERBERGER THEATER FESTIVAL OF THE ARTS

This festival will take place from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 4.

Monroe Street between Second and Third streets is scheduled to be closed at 9 a.m. Friday, Nov. 3, through 10 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 4.

Local and business access will be maintained.

Access to parking facilities will be maintained.

All streets will open to normal traffic by 10 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 4.

LOCAL FIRST FESTIVAL

This festival will take place at Margaret T. Hance Park from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 4.

Moreland Street between First and Third streets is scheduled to be closed from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 4.

Local and business access will be maintained.

All streets will open to normal traffic by 6 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 4.

M.S. WALK ON THE WILD SIDE

This event will take place on Van Buren Street between Galvin Parkway and Mill Avenue from

7 a.m. to 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 4.

The following streets will be closed from 5 a.m. to 11 a.m.:

 Van Buren Street – Galvin Parkway to Mill Avenue Priest Drive –  Van Buren Street to Center Parkway 

Traffic will be directed by police officers at Galvin Parkway and Van Buren Street.

Galvin Parkway between Van Buren Street and McDowell Road will be maintained.

Local and business access will be maintained.

Police officers will be on-site to assist with traffic control.

All streets will open to normal traffic by 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 4.

PHOENIX FIRE CHIEF ALAN BRUNACINI (Ret.) MEMORIAL SERVICE

This event will honor the life and service of one of Phoenix’s Finest at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 4.

This event will take place at Comerica Theater at Fourth Avenue and Washington Street.

The following streets will be closed at 11 a.m.:

 Washington Street – First to Seventh avenues Fifth Avenue – Washington to Monroe streets. 

Additional restrictions may be enacted to stage fire equipment from outside agencies near the event location.

Police officers will be on-site to assist with traffic control.

All streets will be open to normal traffic by 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 4.

PHOENIX 10K & HALF MARATHON

This event will consist of multiple road races and will start at Central Avenue and Jefferson Street and finish at Second Avenue and Washington Street beginning 7 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 5.

The downtown streets bounded by First to 19th avenues and Madison to Adams streets will be closed.

The following streets will be closed at 5 a.m.:

Jefferson Street – First to 19th avenues

Washington Street – First to 19th avenues

Third Avenue – Jefferson to Roosevelt streets

Seventh Avenue – Grant to Van Buren streets

15th Avenue – Grant to Van Buren streets

17th Avenue – Grant to Van Buren streets

The following streets will be closed at 6 a.m.:

Roosevelt Street – Third Avenue to First Street

Van Buren Street – First to Fourth avenues

McDowell Road – Seventh Street to Seventh Avenue

Thomas Road – Seventh Street to Seventh Avenue

Osborn Road – Seventh Street to Seventh Avenue

Indian School Road – Seventh Street to Seventh Avenue

Campbell Avenue – Central to Seventh avenues

Camelback Road – Seventh Street to Seventh Avenue

Central Avenue – Roosevelt Street to Missouri Avenue

Through traffic needing to cross Central Avenue may utilize Grant/Lincoln streets, Interstate 10, Missouri Avenue and streets north of the restrictions.

Light Rail service will be maintained throughout the events.  Expect minimal delays.

Access to parking facilities in the downtown area will be maintained.

Police officers will be on-site to assist with traffic control.

All cross streets will be opened to normal traffic after runners have passed.

All streets will be open to normal traffic by 1 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 5.

ST. MARY’S BASILICA - DIA DE LOS MUERTOS

This festival will take place from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 5.

Monroe Street between Third and Fifth streets is scheduled to be closed from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 5.

Local and business access will be maintained during this time-period.

Access to parking facilities will be maintained.

All streets will open to normal traffic by 10 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 5.
