I-10 CLOSED this Weekend! + other Road Destruction

Mike Myers is threatening me if you don't avoid the I-10 Closure this Weekend!

ADOT Weekend Freeway Travel Advisory (Oct. 13-16) 

I-10 West closed at 59th Avenue for South Mountain Freeway bridge work

 

Westbound Interstate 10 closed at 59th Avenue from 10 p.m. Friday to 8 a.m. Sunday (Oct. 15) for bridge construction at Loop 202 South Mountain Freeway interchange. Westbound I-10 on-ramps at 43rd and 51st avenues also closed. Expect heavy traffic, delays and consider alternate routes. DETOUR: Alternate routes include westbound and southbound Loop 101 in the West Valley. NOTE: East Valley fans traveling to Saturday night’s Arizona Coyotes-Boston Bruins game can also consider using Loop 101 as alternate route to Gila River Arena. 

 

 

 

Yorkshire Drive/Utopia Road closed in both directions approaching Interstate 17 in north Phoenix from 9 p.m. Friday to 5 p.m. Saturday (Oct. 14) for installation of wrong-way vehicle detection system. North- and southbound I-17 on- and off-ramps at Yorkshire Drive/Utopia Road closed. DETOUR: Alternate routes include Union Hills Drive or Rose Garden Lane. Eastbound Yorkshire Drive closed at 27th Avenue (traffic can access I-17 via local streets). Southbound 23rd Avenue limited to local traffic only between eastbound Loop 101 (Beardsley) frontage road and Utopia Road. Westbound Utopia Road closed at Honeywell entrance (east of I-17). NOTE: North- and southbound I-17 off-ramps at Northern Avenue closed from 9 p.m. Friday to noon Saturday (Oct. 14). Alternate routes include Glendale or Dunlap avenues. 

 

 

 Northbound Interstate 17 ramp to eastbound Loop 101 in north Phoenix narrowed to one lane from 9 p.m. Saturday to 2 p.m. Sunday (Oct. 15) for installation of wrong-way vehicle detection system. The east- and westbound Loop 101 ramps to southbound I-17 also will be narrowed to one lane. Southbound I-17 off-ramp at Yorkshire Drive closed. DETOUR: Please use caution and be prepared to slow down and merge safely. Watch for highway workers and equipment in work zones. 

 

 

 Westbound Interstate 10 closed at 59th Avenue overnight from 9 p.m. Sunday to 5 a.m. Monday (Oct. 16) and from 9 p.m. Monday to 5 a.m. Tuesday (Oct. 17) for bridge construction at Loop 202 South Mountain Freeway interchange. DETOUR: Please allow extra travel time and consider alternate routes, including westbound and southbound Loop 101 in West Valley. 

 

 

 Interstate 10 HOV-lane on- and off-ramps at Third Street near downtown Phoenix closed from 10 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday (Oct. 16) for pavement joint maintenance. DETOUR: Consider alternate routes, including the I-10 on- or off-ramps at Seventh Street or Seventh Avenue.


SPECIAL EVENTS:

CITYSCAPE MOVIE NIGHT – GHOSTBUSTERS

This event will take place in CityScape at 6:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 13.

The following streets will be closed from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.:

Central Avenue – Washington to Jefferson streets (CityScape)

Southbound Second Street – Washington to Jefferson streets

During this event, Central Avenue through traffic will be detoured at Jefferson Street to northbound Second Street.

All streets will be open to normal traffic by 11 p.m. Friday, Oct. 13.

NATIVE AMERICAN RECOGNITION DAY PARADE

This event will take place on Third Street between Oak Street and Indian School Road from 9 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 14.

Third Street will be closed for parade staging beginning at 7:30 a.m.

All major streets, local streets, and driveways will be closed as the parade approaches and reopened as it proceeds.

The following major streets will be closed during the ingress and egress of the parade:

Third Street – Oak Street to Indian School Road

Thomas Road – Central Avenue to Seventh Street

Osborn Road – Central Avenue to Seventh Street

Indian School Road – Central Avenue to Seventh Street

Indian School Road will be maintained in one westbound lane between Central Avenue and Seventh Street.

Police officers will be on-site to assist with traffic control.

All streets will be open to normal traffic by 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 14.

LOST LAKE FESTIVAL

This event will take place in Steele Indian School Park at Indian School Road and Central Avenue beginning Friday, Oct. 20, through Sunday, Oct. 22.

Northbound Central Avenue between Indian School Road and Campbell Avenue is scheduled to be closed:

 

 9 p.m. to 11:59 p.m. Friday, Oct. 20 9 p.m. to 11:59 p.m. Saturday, Oct 21 8:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 22 

The following street will be closed from 6 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 12, through 6 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 26:

 Steele Indian School Park Access Road at Seventh Street 

The following streets will be closed from 6 a.m. Monday, Oct. 16, through 6 a.m. Monday, Oct. 23:

 Glenrosa Avenue (Farrington Drive), east of Central Avenue Turney Avenue, west of 7th Street 

The following streets will be closed from 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 17, through 6 a.m. Monday, Oct. 23:

 Third Street/Herrera Way, north of Indian School Road 

The following street will be closed from 6 a.m. Friday, Oct. 20, through 6 a.m. Monday, Oct. 23:

 Second Place, south of Indian School Road 

The following streets will be restricted from 6 a.m. Friday, Oct. 20, through 6 a.m. Monday, Oct. 23:

 Indian School Road between Central Avenue and Third Street will be restricted to one lane in each direction. Northbound Third Street between Clarendon Avenue and Indian School Road will be restricted to one lane. 

Police officers will be on-site to assist with traffic control.

 

All streets will be open to normal traffic by 6 a.m. Monday, Oct. 23.
