We may not even be in September yet, but it turns out a lot of people already have their mind on holiday shopping. Specifically, they are already concerned about how inflation is going to impact their holiday season.
A new “U.S. News & World Report” survey finds:
- 84% of Americans are concerned about how inflation will impact their holiday shopping.
- 43% of these people say they worry about it “a lot.”
- 81% are already doing something about it, adjusting their everyday spending.
- Overall, the average American planned to spend $648 on holiday gifts last year.
- 52% say they plan to spend even less than that this year.
- 51% hope to save money by using things like online coupons, apps and more.
And it’s not just the holidays where folks are looking to save money.
- 58% of Americans say they seek out coupons to save money at least once a week.
- 25% do so once a month.
- Many are also looking to save money using discounts like:
- Promotional codes from online retailers (67%)
- Buy one, get one deals (58%)
- Free shipping coupons (54%)
- Rebate offers (40%)
