Ever since my wife and I became parents we’ve barely had a night out because she has babysitter issues. My kid is now almost two, and she still won’t let anyone who is not family watch her. We have a family wedding coming up, but she’s refusing to go because since my family will all be going, nobody can watch our kid (her family lives in another state). My sister’s babysitter, who is a college student that my wife has met and even likes, offered to watch our child, but my wife won’t budge. I’m just furious at this point. How do I get her to realize that she needs to lighten up at least a little? Is she being unreasonable or am I the one out of line? At this point I’m planning to go to the wedding without her, but I really don’t want to.
