Love was in the air at CBS San Francisco Bay Area on Valentine’s Day. It was a day filled with romance for couples around the world, but inside the TV station, one meteorologist was in for a big surprise. Mary Lee was taping a segment about the Northern Lights, focused on work, when her longtime boyfriend, Ajit Ninan, showed up with something straight out of a movie.
While the cameras were rolling and Lee was filming, Ajit’s two daughters Mirium and Madi arrived with roses for Lee. She thought it was just a surprise family visit until Ajit stepped on the set and got down on one knee in front of his lady love. “You are spectacular and beautiful,” he told her. “I want you to be part of my life. Will you be my forever girl and marry me?”
Lee said “yes” to his proposal, later saying she “always wanted to be proposed to with the Northern Lights in the background.”
- And thanks to Ajit’s grand romantic gesture and the team at CBS San Francisco Bay Area, she got her wish as the Northern Lights stayed on the screen behind the couple.
- The staff at the TV station were in on the surprise, calling it “Operation Marry Mary!”
- Lee joked that she didn’t think something like this would ever happen, calling the proposal “incredible.”
- “I am still on a high and still in shock, for sure,” Lee says. Now we have a wedding to plan!”
