Two years ago, Paul Simon feared he may never perform live again after suffering severe hearing loss in his left ear. Last year, the legendary singer-songwriter gave an optimistic update that he was hoping to one day be able to play a full-length concert again. Over the weekend, he performed a duet of "Homeward Bound" with Sabrina Carpenter during SNL's 50th anniversary special. And on Tuesday (February 18), he announced a massive North American tour.

Aptly titled "A Quiet Celebration Tour," the extensive trek kicks off April 4 in New Orleans and wraps up August 3 in Seattle. Simon will be joined by a backing band consisting of Caleb Burhans (viola), Jamey Haddad (percussion), Gyan Riley (guitar), Mick Rossi (piano, keys), Andy Snitzer (saxophone), Nancy Stagnita (flute), Mark Stewart (guitar), and Eugene Friesen (Cello). Steve Gadd and Matt Chamberlin alternating on drums.

The setlist will consist of selections off Simon's latest album Seven Psalms and other songs from his discography, but one song that will not be played is his classic hit "You Can Call Me Al." During a recent interview, Simon explained how his hearing loss required him to alter his setlist. “I’m going through my repertoire and reducing a lot of the choices I make to acoustic versions,” he said at the time. “It’s all much quieter. It’s not ‘You Can Call Me Al.’ That’s gone. I can’t do that one.”
