Château de Thauvenay is a historical winery in the Sancerre region, once founded by the Count de Montalivet, who was Minister of the Interior under Napoleon. It is one of the few real castles in the Sancerre area. Since the end of 2016 Château de Thauvenay belongs to Langlois Chateau .
The 18 hectares of vines are plots with south / south-east orientation with calcareous clay soil, which gives the wine a racy finesse. Aromas of exotic fruits such as mango, maracuja and pineapple are found in its smell. On the palate, this Sancerre combines abundance and freshness, its glazed and precise style are typical for the Sauvignon Blanc from this region.
