Priyanka Chopra Jonas is revealing which "Y2K girl" trend she had to shed in order to further her style evolution and sharing the tip she she received from a stylist that stuck with her.

The Citadel actress appeared at a recent event for Marshalls where she spoke about figuring out her own style over the years through asking herself questions like "Who am I going to be today?" and "What do I want to convey?" as well as getting tip from stylists, including one piece of style advice that has had a lasting impact, per People.

"Less is more, you don't have to be a Christmas tree to look chic," she said. "I didn't think less is more — early on in my career, it was more is more. I was a Y2K girl, so it was all the things."

Chopra, who is partnering with Marshalls for its inaugural accelerator program, also spoke on the importance of having a "real, tangible space" to talk about the journey to self-confidence and all the fears that come with it.

"The fears and insecurities are real and I want to talk about that," she said. "I want to talk through how you regain or gain confidence to be able to take the next step, actioning your ambitions and [making] them a reality. It can be daunting to put your ambitions out there, and I want to talk through how, and tools of how to do that. I've done it for myself."
