Selena Gomez and David Henrie are reuniting for something big!
Earlier this week, the “Look At Her Now” singer announced she and her former Wizards of Waverly Place co-star will come together for the virtual premiere of Henrie’s upcoming feel-good movie, This is the Year.
The film project, which marks Henrie’s directional debut, is set to release on August 28, kicking off with the pre-show at 7:30 p.m. ET and the feature film at 8:00 p.m. ET. Following the show, TikTok stars Charli and Dixie D’Amelio will be hosting a live Q&A event, with lovelytheband to wrap the event with a live performance.
"With all the craziness going on in the world, a feel-good movie is just what we need,” the Rare songbird said in a video announcement along with teasers from the upcoming movie. “Most premieres are only for a very small, select group of people, but not this one. We want all of you to watch it with us."
"Couldn’t be more humbled to bring you a feel good movie that @selenagomez executive produced and I directed called @thisistheyearfilm !" Henrie added on Twitter. "We’re doing a LIVE, one-time only virtual premier event benefitting the @plus1org Covid-19 relief fund."
Per the film’s website, the reads as follows: “In a last-ditch effort to win over the girl of his dreams, a nerdy high school senior (Lorenzo Henrie) and his best friends embark on a road trip to see their favorite band at the biggest music festival of the year. On their journey, they realize that elaborate plans never go off without a hitch, and that you can find true love in the most unexpected places.”
