Over One Million Pocketknives Recalled Due To 'Laceration Hazard'

Harbor Freight Tools issued a voluntary recall of about 1.1 million of their Gordon Folding Knives due to a "laceration hazard." The company says the locking mechanism on the pocketknives can fail to engage when trying to open the blade.

Harbor Freight Tools has received six reports of people who were injured while trying to open the knives, and four of those people required medical attention

The three-inch knives sell for $5 apiece and are made of stainless steel. The handle is made of black metal and has five cutouts on each side. The knife comes equipped with a silver-colored metal belt clip attached to the back of the handle. One side of the blade says "China," while the other side says "stainless steel."

"Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled knives and return them to a Harbor Freight Tools store for a full refund in the form of a $5 store gift card plus sales tax," the company said.
