'Roseanne' Canceled By ABC After Comedian's Tweets

The "Roseanne" reboot has been canceled by ABC after Roseanne Barr tweeted that Former President Barack Obama aide Valerie Jarrett was the offspring of "Muslim Brotherhood" and the "Planet of the Apes."

Almost immediately after this controversial message was posted on social media, the comedian received much backlash because many believed that it was racist. That's when many demanded that Disney and ABC cancel her show.

Barr would soon go on social media to apologize for her words. "I apologize to Valerie Jarrett and to all Americans. I am truly sorry for making a bad joke about her politics and her looks. I should have known better. Forgive me-my joke was in bad taste," she said. Barr also stated that she would leave Twitter. See those tweets below.

However, it looks like Barr's apology is too late. ABC Entertainment president Channing Dungey issued a statement about the comedian. “Roseanne’s Twitter statement is abhorrent, repugnant and inconsistent with our values, and we have decided to cancel her show,” she said.
