Digital License Plates Are Being Tested In Arizona

A digital license plate could be the next big idea for the automotive world and it's being tested in Arizona as we speak. A technology company called "Reviver" is testing digital license plates on dozens of vehicles. According to Reviver, Arizona is just one of two states that currently have these plates on the road... with the only other state testing this idea being California

In a recent ABC 15 article:

ADOT spokesperson Doug Nick says the goal to think beyond creating a new license plate.

"You can update this [the license plate] and it has the capabilities of potentially having other functions on there... maybe messages that are of help to the public, like Amber Alerts," Nick said. "That might be something that could be done on this."

In other words... the possibilities are endless with technology and how to incorporate it into daily life. This plate could alert police if a vehicle is stolen, identify plates with expired tags, etc.

Do you think this is a good idea for the state to get behind? Do you see anything wrong with this idea? Leave your comments on our Facebook page!
