OMG: Maine Road Covered In Chicken Parts

A loose tailgate on a recycling truck led to a mile of chicken parts all over a Portland, Maine roadway.

Before anyone noticed Tuesday, chicken waste began pouring out of the back of a recycling truck in Portland's Libbytown neighborhood. Then residents woke up to the horrible, eye-burning odor.

It turns out the chicken parts were headed for waste processing. The driver says he noticed what was happening and notified the company and they sent out employees to shovel the chicken parts off the roadway. The response took quite a while and meanwhile, cars were driving through the bits spreading it further down the road. The city finally sent a street sweeper through to try to cut the smell.
