It's the KEZ Teacher Feature supported by the Arizona State Fair and drumroll please....
This month’s incredible educator is a teacher from Carl Hayden High School, home to 2,300 students whose lives have been touched by this wonderful woman.
We are so excited to introduce you to Miriam Munoz! The following is the letter we received nominating her for this month's prize!
"I would like to nominate teacher Miriam Munoz for the $500 gift card and pizza party for her students. Ms. Munoz goes above and beyond to support her students by forming an after school student club as well as sponsoring a Ballet Folklorico dance group for her students. This work is all outside of her regular paid work days in an effort to assist her students feel connected to campus. Being connected to activities is one way that students feel like they are part of the fabric of their community.
Ms. Munoz collaborates across different departments in order to get her students as much support as possible. For example through her leadership, the Ballet Folklorico students will be able to use the dance teacher's room after school in order to practice. In addition Ms. Munoz has partnered with the social work department on campus in an effort to bring in prevention programing to campus.
A financial support for Ms. Munoz will be a reinvestment for valley students. Sincerely, Jaxinta Shaffer"
Ms. Munoz was presented with $500 for school supplies and fair tickets thanks to our friends with the Arizona State Fair as well as a pizza party for her class from Spinato's Pizza.
